John Boehner B-Slaps Henry Waxman

Henry Waxman dumped a 300 page addition to the Cap and Tax bill at 3:00 AM the morning of the vote. John Boehner  wasn’t going to take it lying down. Here’s the second video in the series. I picked this one so you can see the rat faced weasel, Henry Waxman, try to stop Boehner from reading what is in the amendment.(6:40 in) The whole thing can be seen at NewsBusters.

What’s The Goracle Afraid Of?

Al Gore is getting more and more paranoid about the media. He won’t debate, he won’t even answer any questions except from friendly questioners like the U. N. And now he bans the media entirely. What’s he afraid of? He knows he’s a fraud and a liar and if he answers any questions everyone else will know too.

No Questions Please

No Questions Please

Al Gore — something of a geek himself, from what we hear — will be keynoting the CTIA Wireless mobile phone conference next month.

But don’t expect the speech to be webcast — it’s not supposed to be reported: Al Gore is banning press from the event.

Gore’s people have announced:

“Special Notice: Photography, recording, webcasting and any other reproduction of Vice President Al Gore’s speaking appearance is strictly prohibited. VP Gore’s keynote address is closed to the press.”

We’re told a security detail will be checking conference badges at the door, and anyone with a press pass will be denied entry to the speech.

Gore pulled the same stunt last year at 2008 RSA security conference. And we don’t even know why he banned press from RSA — word of the speech got out, of course, and Gore’s talk turned out to be the same old stump speech about global warming he always gives.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for any bombshells at the April 3 speech we’re not supposed to write about. But consider this: It’s a mobile phone conference, meaning everyone there will probably have a top-shelf portable device for capturing audio, video, you-name-it on their person. Gore can ban whomever he likes, but word will get out. Consider it an inconvienent truth.

NASA Is Censoring Global Warming Skeptics

Should a government agency censor free speech? Well those on the left have been livid about alleged censorship by the Bush administration for the last 8 years concerning anything and everything that didn’t fit their agenda.  Now we hear about some censorship that the left probably would rather you didn’t hear about. Here’s one that I find to be especially disturbing. It seems NASA has an agenda concerning Global Warming, and if you don’t believe the Cult, you’d better keep your mouth shut. Roy Spencer, Ph. D. has a new blog, and he’s talking now. See if you think NASA has tarnished it’s image. It sure has in my eyes.

Something about retirement apparently frees people up to say what they really believe. I retired early from NASA over seven years ago to have more freedom to speak my mind on global warming.

You might recall that after Dr. Joanne Simpson retired from NASA she ( admitted to a long-held skepticism regarding the role of mankind in global warming.

And who can forget NASA’s Administrator, Michael Griffin, admitting that he was skeptical of the urgency of the global warming problem? After the outrage that ensued, I suspect he wishes he had never brought it up.

And now my old boss when I was at NASA (as well as James Hansen’s old boss), John Theon, has stated very clearly that he doesn’t believe global warming is manmade…and adding “climate models are useless” for good measure. Even I wouldn’t go quite that far, since I use simple ones in my published research.

I remember the old days at NASA, when even John Theon was singing the same tune as most people at NASA were. Manmade global warming was a potentially serious threat, and NASA wanted Congress to fund new satellites to study the problem. It was a team effort to get that accomplished.

Global warming research was a relatively new field back then. Was Theon always skeptical, and just being a team player at the time? I don’t know. It could be that Dr. Theon, after watching 15 years of climate research go by, decided that he was no longer convinced that mankind was at fault for warming.

After all, there is some precedence for scientists changing their minds. One of today’s leading global warming alarmists is Stephen Schneider, who did a major about-face from the 1970s when global cooling was all the rage. At least Theon didn’t write a book back then about how serious the global warming issue was, as Schneider did on global cooling.

And how many defections have we seen in the other direction — from the skeptics’ camp to the alarmists’ camp? Seems like it’s been a one-way street so far.

Theon now also supports what I have repeatedly said over the years. That NASA’s James Hansen routinely ignored NASA policy, and said whatever he wanted to the press and to Congress without getting approval first. The reason why everyone at NASA looked the other way was that we were trying to get congressional funding for satellite missions to study climate. I personally don’t think we needed Hansen’s extremist views to get that accomplished, but it probably helped to some extent.

I asked NASA managers at the time, how can Hansen get away with saying whatever he wanted to? The answer was, “well…he’s not supposed to”.

You might think it’s OK for the lone scientist to warn everyone of impending planetary doom. But I consider it much closer to someone who makes a habit of yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theatre. Forcing expensive energy on people will lead to death and suffering. These are very real threats, not theoretical like manmade global warming, and they exist today. I personally don’t care where our energy comes from — but I do care that a maximum number of people can afford it.

In truth, it wasn’t Hansen who was muzzled, but it was me in the Clinton-Gore years, who was asked to keep my mouth shut about my skeptical views. That was fine…if a little annoying. At least the flap Hansen caused has managed to force NASA to say that their scientists no longer have to march in lock-step on scientific issues. That’s a good thing.

I have to wonder…how many more scientists will be outing themselves as skeptics? While we may never constitute a majority, and many of us have differing views on the real causes of climate change, it only takes one of us to be right for the global warming house of cards to collapse.

1st Amendment Abuse: YouTube Pulls Anti-Gore Video

This will explain why some of the videos I’ve posted here no longer work. You can see the video at There is a link at the bottom of the page.

Pressure Group Censors Anti-Gore Ad on YouTube
Electric Co-op Group Ignores ‘Fair Use’, Claims Copyright Infringement Over Seven Seconds of Footage

Washington, D.C., March 25, 2008—A new anti-Gore ad produced by the Competitive Enterprise Institute has been censored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. The association claims copyright infringement over seven seconds of footage in the ad—footage which was taken from a documentary that the Association itself posted on YouTube. A “takedown” notice by the association led to the ad being yanked off YouTube over the weekend. CEI has since put the ad on its own website.

CEI’s public service ad on the importance of affordable energy was unveiled on March 11. The ad documents the hypocrisy of jet-setting global warming alarmists who advise others to reduce their energy use and points out the vital need for more energy in the developing world. The ad, which aired in a dozen cities in the last two weeks, comes just before Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection launches a $100 million ad campaign for his global warming proposals. Electric co-ops receive massive government subsidies, and the association’s move appears motivated by global warming politics.

“NRECA’s claim of copyright infringement is without merit,” said Competitive Enterprise Institute General Counsel Sam Kazman. “Our use of this miniscule amount of material – from a film which NRECA itself posted on YouTube and distributes freely –meets every criterion of Fair Use. It seems the association’s real goal is not to protect its copyright, but to protect its politically correct image on global warming.”

James V. DeLong, noted intellectual property scholar and Vice President of the Convergence Law Institute, stated of NRECA: “They’re trying to suppress important political speech, which lies at the core of Fair Use.”

The suppressed ad, “Gore’s Light Bulbs,” is again available online.

AP Abusing The First Amendment? !Update!

On March 1st I linked the story of First Amendment abuse by the Associated Press. Link It seems that Brian of snapped shot has been able to get back up and running, sort of. A deal has been reached. Here’s the story.

Or is that “Move On™?”

(Oh, wait… Maybe referring to them isn’t the best idea right now.)

After receiving plenty of legal advice (plus some very insightful input from Jamie, Charles Johnson, Gabriel, and otoc, deacon, Cristoph), and considering the position I was in, I have come to the determination that it is in my best interests to comply with the AP’s request to the fullest extent possible. Here is the response I received from their counsel at the end of our discussion:

This should resolve the matter. Thank you again for you cooperation and immediate response.

And Thusly, We March On

YouTube Caves To Radicals

YouTube has given up on free speech. They are censoring anything that might offend Islam, and you know how easy that is to do. NewsBusters has the story.

The Islamofascists are mad at YouTube… or at least there were. They aren’t anymore, of course, because YouTube has folded to a cyberterror campaign launched in Islamabad, Pakistan. Islamists in Pakistan launched a cyber attack against YouTube over the video service’s hosting of the trailer to a Dutch documentary that claims that Islamic doctrine is an “inspiration for intolerance, murder and terror.”

So, in another strike against freedom of expression, YouTube has promised to eliminate any content that is deemed by extremist, Islamists half way across the world as “highly provocative and blasphemous” against Islam.
