Rainy Day Ramblings

It’s raining here in my neck of the woods, so no work today. Lets see what’s going on around the rest of the blogosphere.

Of course the Precedent is bowing to foreign leaders AGAIN! BHO Bows To Communist Chinese President.

Robert Gibbs being groomed for Axelrod’s, job? Failing Upward. He stutters like his boss without a teleprompter, can you imagine them trying to get something done in an emergency?

SEIU’s Andy Stern Moving up too? Purple People upheaval: What’s behind SEIU thug-in-chief Andy Stern’s resignation? He’s been to the White House more times than most of the cabinet.

Don’t need no Teleprompter Jesus Go watch the video, it speaks volumes.

What union leaders think of you. If you’re white, you’re “f**king rabidly racist.”

FBI to release the Kennedy (Ted) files. Maybe we will finally find out the real story about Mary Jo Kopechne’s murder.

The REAL party of no. With the Democrats on the defensive and getting beaten up in the polls by their constituents, they are doing what any vicious scared animal does when cornered: lash out

Political Correctness Takes a Life.

Global Warming Cult Targeting School Kids

The Global Warming Cult is creeping into every corner of our lives it can. The election of the far left socialist/marxist to be our President only makes it easier to get to your children. Pay attention before it’s too late.

You Will Learn To Worship Me

You Will Learn To Worship Me

Guilt trips for driving gas-powered vehicles, eating hamburgers and powering gadgets are the order of the day. Then teens are to go home and tell mom and dad about their sins too.

Global warming is proving more dubious by the day, but the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) is not shy about recruiting Boston’s next generation to promote their alarmism.

The nonprofit group launched months ago and wants to inspire 140,000 teenagers to join its climate-change activism by the end of this year.

They’ve hired educators with flair for the theatrical to deliver their one-sided message via high school assemblies, captivating hundreds at a clip.

Rappers, actors, athletes, ministers and other dynamic personalities sync their talks with amusing PowerPoint presentations and slick animation to pump up the fear.

The idea is to motivate teenagers, and subsequently everyone in their spheres of influence, to modify their behaviors so as to stop global warming. This is achieved by cutbacks in their energy use, which ACE believes produces too many greenhouse gases (from fossil-fuel combustion like coal and oil) that warm the planet.

So guilt trips for driving gasoline-powered vehicles (carbon dioxide), eating hamburgers (methane from cow flatulence) and powering gadgets (more carbon dioxide) are the order of the day. Then teens are to go home and tell mom and dad about their sins too.

ACE is based in Oakland, Calif., and was created by wealthy wind-energy entrepreneur Michael Haas. The organization has targeted five metropolitan areas besides Boston: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington and Houston.

Haas, who donated $24,600 to President Barack Obama’s campaign and victory funds last year, stands to reap millions of dollars in government subsidies that climate change-driven renewable energy policies would bring. ACE looks like an effort to assure the growth of his business into future generations.

ACE lobbies school boards and administrators for permission to give its presentations, ensuring delivery of its propaganda to hundreds of potential foot soldiers for the cause.

But ACE’s talks are infected with falsehoods, like telling the students they’ve lived through the 10 hottest years on record (1934 was really the hottest) and that greenhouse gas emissions are jacking up the global thermostat way too high.

Scientific studies that counter these fibs and exaggerations are left out of the presentations.

For example, many solar physicists believe we may be entering a prolonged cooling period due to diminished sunspot activity.

Atmospheric scientists, who observe actual data rather than depend on dubious climate models, have seen no recent temperature increase (on average) in the oceans or on the surface of the earth during the last decade.

Unfortunately many teachers and administrators don’t do their homework and let the Alliance for Climate Education pull students from classrooms to be taught rewritten history and biased forecasting.

President Thin Skin Won’t Like This

Rasmussen:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30 (see trends).

Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time.

At the other end of the spectrum, today’s total for Strongly Disapprove matches the highest level yet recorded. The 41% mark was reached just once before and that came one week ago today. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans now Strongly Disapprove along with 49% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Does Sarah Palin Still Confuse You? Listen Closely

Hey, all you talking heads, beltway boys and naysayers out there.  Listen to her. It’s real clear that she don’t much care what you may think of her chances to be president. Did you ever stop to think, there are more important things in life than politics?? She seems very happy right there with her family, fishing in Alaska.

Quote of the Day About Sarah Palin

Just because you don’t know what Sarah Palin is doing doesn’t mean that she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

And to that I’m just going to add, get off her back and let her have some room. She never said she wanted to be POTUS, that was us. The lady has a right to protect her family, and her future, whatever that may be. I’ll be supporting her wherever she decides to go.

Quote came from The Green Room.  Read it, you’ll like it.

Well I lied, here’s a bit more you need to hear. H/T Rigpa @ GCP

While I’m on a roll, you should listen to this also. John Ziegler talks with Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton about Sarah Palin’s decision to resign as Alaska Governor

Sarah Palin Steps Down As Alaska Governor

And who could blame her? The relentless attacks on her family, the never ending bullshit lawsuits and the disgusting jokes by washed up comedians. And let’s not forget the personal money spent to defend those frivolous lawsuits. Sometimes a person needs to back up a bit and see which way to go next. I’ll be behind her what ever she decides to do.

Wouldn’t it be something if she announced at one of the TEA Parties that she was quitting the Republican party to head up our new TEA Party? There are enough people disgusted with both parties to start a new one that will blow them out of the water. Forget the crap you are hearing from both sides. Krauthammer, Jonah Goldberg and others on the right think she should get some kind of education that makes her more “Washington” to be able to be understood by the elites there. To you two and others like you, go pound sand, you are part of the problem that is the elite in Washington, Sarah speaks just fine to us in the real world. And to the Liberal Left Loonies, be afraid…be very afraid!

Predator drones targeted by human rights activists

“This is not only a violation of the international laws of war,” he said. “It’s bad policy.”

Opponents of the drones say that the policy could be illegal. The laws of war allow individuals who are engaged in hostilities to be targeted in an armed conflict but strictly prohibit actions against those not engaged.

“Even when you’re attacking a legitimate military objective, you cannot cause civilian casualties that exceed the value of a legitimate military attack,” Rona says.

Human rights activists? How about you asshats stop the use of civilians as human shields, or stop the stoning of Muslim girls for talking to a male, or stop the rapes in Africa by United Nations workers. Now that would be a novel approach.

Mancow a lying twat punk about waterboard torture.

So you wanna buy a hybrid?

You should read this first.

The biggest problem, and it’s taken me a while to work this out, because all the other problems are so vast and so cancerous, is the gearbox. For reasons known only to itself, Honda has fitted the Insight with something called constantly variable transmission (CVT).

It doesn’t work. Put your foot down in a normal car and the revs climb in tandem with the speed. In a CVT car, the revs spool up quickly and then the speed rises to match them. It feels like the clutch is slipping. It feels horrid.

And the sound is worse. The Honda’s petrol engine is a much-shaved, built-for-economy, low-friction 1.3 that, at full chat, makes a noise worse than someone else’s crying baby on an airliner. It’s worse than the sound of your parachute failing to open. Really, to get an idea of how awful it is, you’d have to sit a dog on a ham slicer.

So you’re sitting there with the engine screaming its head off, and your ears bleeding, and you’re doing only 23mph because that’s about the top speed, and you’re thinking things can’t get any worse, and then they do because you run over a small piece of grit.

Thank You Fellow Californians

A fine job. This proves the TEA parties were not just for show, and not just a radical right wing idea. It took people from all parties to defeat these new taxes and phoney fixes by such wide margins. Not one proposition even got 40% support except 1F, and that’s the one that needed to pass.  Now, remember this at election time and get rid of the idiots that have caused this mess. And also, quit voting for every “Green” scam put on a ballot. If they just did away with all that bullsh!t for two years the budget would be balanced.

— Proposition 1A would have been the most damaging to taxpayers, as it would extend tax hikes on sales, income, and vehicles for two years, to the tune of $16 billion. It was disguised as a spending cap, but that cap was weak. Voters sniffed out the tax hikes and overwhelmingly opposed them 66-34.

— Proposition 1B didn’t fare much better, as it was rejected by a 62.5 to 37.5 vote. This measure was Gov. Schwarzenegger’s bow to the all-powerful teachers unions. It would have thrown an addition $9.3 billion toward education. It hoped to draw that money from the rainy day fund 1A would have established (so much for a spending cap). Thankfully for taxpayers, both measures were defeated.

— Proposition 1C would have allowed the state to borrow against future lottery revenues, about $5 billion. You have to give state government credit for creativity — they’re tops when it comes to new and innovative budget gimmicks that ignore the reality that they consistently spend outside their means. Voters recognized that Prop 1C ignored this fundamental reality and rejected it 65-35.

— Proposition 1D would have shifted almost $2 billion from the California Children and Families Program into the general fund to close the budget gap. This is more budgetary maneuvering that would have left taxpayers on the hook when the program’s funding was inevitably restored. It lost 66-34.

— Proposition 1E failed by the same 66-34. Like Prop 1D, it would have diverted funds from elsewhere in the budget to shore up general-fund overspending (about $230 million annually from Proposition 63 — a tax on the rich).

— Proposition 1F was the only measure to pass. It imposed a weak limit on pay raises for legislators, theoretically disallowing them during budget deficit years. Regardless of its actual teeth, the results show true populist outrage in California: The measure passed by a resounding 74-26.

The Greens Are Never Happy

Now the Greens have everything they’ve been waiting for. Both houses of congress are controlled by liberal democrats, and the White House has a radical  liberal President who has vowed to destroy America by insisting on “green” power, among various other things. So how could there be a problem? Seems to me, they don’t want green energy, they want no energy at all.  I think this is their plan….

What else could they want? Here’s the latest NIMBY* excuses.

*(not in my back yard)

A key part of President Obama’s energy plan — replacing fossil fuels with green alternatives — is facing increasing opposition from an unlikely source: environmentalists.

Some environmentalists, who have successfully fought a wind farm on the border of Oregon and Washington, are trying to block a massive solar plant in the Mojave desert. And now an Oregon county is considering a ban on wind power in the foothills of the blue mountains.

“We all want to be as green as we can be. But at what cost?” Richard Jolly of the Blue Mountain Alliance. “To take everything from us? This valley could be surrounded by them.”

Jolly says 400-foot wind turbines are a bird-killing eyesore. The developer argues the danger to birds is exaggerated but admits every big energy project has its downside.

“If we hold out for the perfect environmental silver bullet, if you will, it will always be 15 years down the road,” he said. “We have to make incremental progress.”

For decades, environmental groups have talked about “big oil,” painting the petroleum industry as greedy and destructive. Now similar language is being applied to renewables. Instead of eco-friendly green power, increasingly it’s “big wind” and “big solar.”

Large environmental groups, such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, bristle at the idea of dissension in the ranks.

“We are working very aggressively to make a planning process happen with utilities, with industry, with local groups all at the table,” said Rick Duke, director of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Center for Market Innovation.

Obama has set a goal of getting 25 percent of the nation’s power from renewable sources by 2025. The White House contends that will create millions of jobs and has the support of business and environmental leaders.

But many local activists say we need to slow this rush to renewables or risk trading one power problem for another. Source

Maybe they were surprised they got everything they wanted and they didn’t have a plan for that.

More dissent in the Democratic camp. Oh Darn!
