Obama Buys Ticket On Titanic, After Hitting Iceberg

You just can’t make this stuff up. Just days after global warming gets exposed for the fraud it is, The Messiah decides he will go to Copehagen to push for the Cap & Tax C02 scam. Let’s hope it works as well as his Chicago Olympics bid.

Lord Christopher Monckton Issues Dire Warning

Lord Monckton can see the coming one world government that the liberals are trying to force upon us. Listen to him,  for he knows of what he speaks.

Free CFL Light Bulbs? Of Course Not

They are going to leave them on your doorstep and charge way more than they cost, whether you use them or not. That’s the liberal way of doing things, by force if you don’t agree with them.

FirstEnergy Corp. is getting ready to leave two high-efficiency light bulbs on your doorstep. But they’re not a gift.

The utility will charge average users 60 cents a month extra on their electric bills for the next three years — $21.60 all together. That covers the cost of the bulbs ($3.50 each), their delivery and the delivery of the power consumers would have used if they didn’t have them.

The good news: These compact fluorescent bulbs will reduce your electricity use. If you replace two 100-watt incandescent bulbs with these 23-watt, warm-white CFLs, you’ll save $60 by the time they burn out in five to seven years, according to FirstEnergy.

And you’ll pay for the bulbs whether you use them or not, so it makes sense to use them.

Al Gore: Huh, What Earth Hour?

What, me sacrifice? I'm only in it for the money

What, me sacrifice? I'm only in it for the money

In yet another “Do as I say” display from The Goracle, he thumbs his nose at Earth Hour.

Even during Earth Hour. President of the Tennessee Center For Policy Research Drew Johnson takes a Saturday drive by Al Gore’s during the time most environmentalists went dark:

I pulled up to Al’s house, located in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, at 8:48pm – right in the middle of Earth Hour. I found that the main spotlights that usually illuminate his 9,000 square foot mansion were dark, but several of the lights inside the house were on.

In fact, most of the windows were lit by the familiar blue-ish hue indicating that floor lamps and ceiling fixtures were off, but TV screens and computer monitors were hard at work. (In other words, his house looked the way most houses look about 1:45am when their inhabitants are distractedly watching “Cheaters” or “Chelsea Lately” reruns.)

The kicker, though, were the dozen or so floodlights grandly highlighting several trees and illuminating the driveway entrance of Gore’s mansion.

I [kid] you not, my friends, the savior of the environment couldn’t be bothered to turn off the gaudy lights that show off his goofy trees.

You would think the leader of the Global Warming Scam would at least support the biggest moonbat hour of the year.

Some Quick Bites

Wasting Your Tax $$$…

The House already had spent $89,000 to cancel out 24,000 tons of emissions that it couldn’t erase by turning out lights, buying better light bulbs and making the Capitol’s power plant burn more natural gas.

The money bought “offsets,” which fund projects that reduce greenhouse gases, such as capturing methane from farm manure ponds, that supposedly wouldn’t have happened without the investment.

It also bought bragging rights for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and other congressional leaders.

…And Demanding More

Get Ready For Another Screwing!

House Democrats are looking at yet another economic stimulus bill beyond the $787 billion one just enacted as investors and consumers continue to show little faith in the economy.

At a special meeting of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on Tuesday morning, Democrats heard again from their trusted band of economists and came away reinforced that Congress would need to spend billions of additional taxpayer dollars in the coming months to help pull the economy out its severe recession.

Keep your pants on Bub

TULSA, Okla. – Police said a man was robbed of his casino winnings by two women he met at the casino and invited home with him. The man won about $2,000 at the Creek Nation Casino and then invited the women to gamble with him and go home with him for drinks about 4 a.m. Monday, police said. The man told the officer the women said they were massage therapists and removed his pants then left with his cash.

About That Offshore Drillin’….It Was A Lie.

The California State Lands Commission denied the first new oil drilling lease in 40 years, ending a much-hoped for energy project off Santa Barbara.

No one should be surprised, but here’s a noteworthy back story.

Every shot a “Hero Shot” in Obama-land

Several bloggers are having good fun with the discovery of a subdirectory of White House photos categorized under the name “hero.” (See Small Dead Animals, Jeff Emanuel, and Bob McCarthy).

Obama Unplugged…er ah um uh uh…his Teleprompter Unplugged

Um, Obama defends his, Er-uh, record against the, uh, accusations that he, uh-uh, is a raging socialist.
Joshua Pundit discovered Obama’s call back to reporters after brewing about being called a socialist by the pro-Obama press:

Another Obama Nominee Withdraws. Charles Freeman Out

The more people found out about Freeman, the worse he got — and not just among conservative critics. His ties to CNOOC, his remarks about the Tiananmen Square protesters, and his support of a national ID after 9/11 painted a strange picture of the man who would run the process of evaulating our intelligence. That, plus the fact that Freeman had no intelligence experience — when the CIA also has a no-experience political fixer running it — doomed Freeman’s appointment.

AP Finally Sees The Carbon Credit Scam

ungore

The world is slowly awakening from its Kool-Aid induced coma, and more people are realizing the scam that Al Gore and the U N are pulling with this carbon credit scheme. Even the mainstream media is picking up on the truth. If the Associated Press will print this, maybe there is hope for us after all.

XIAOXI, China – The hydroelectric dam, a low wall of concrete slicing across an old farming valley, is supposed to help a power company in distant Germany contribute to saving the climate — while putting lucrative “carbon credits” into the pockets of Chinese developers.

But in the end the new Xiaoxi dam may do nothing to lower global-warming emissions as advertised. And many of the 7,500 people displaced by the project still seethe over losing their homes and farmland.

“Nobody asked if we wanted to move,” said a 38-year-old man whose family lost a small brick house. “The government just posted a notice that said, ‘Your home will be demolished.’”

The dam will shortchange German consumers, Chinese villagers and the climate itself, if critics are right. And Xiaoxi is not alone.

Similar stories are repeated across China and elsewhere around the world, as hundreds of hydro projects line up for carbon credits, at a potential cost of billions to Europeans, Japanese and soon perhaps Americans, in a trading system a new U.S. government review concludes has “uncertain effects” on greenhouse-gas emissions.

One American expert is more blunt.

“The CDM” — the 4-year-old, U.N.-managed Clean Development Mechanism — “is an excessive subsidy that represents a massive waste of developed world resources,” says Stanford University’s Michael Wara.

Forced relocations have become common in China as people in hundreds of communities are moved to clear land for factories and other projects, provoking anger and occasionally violent protests. But what happened here is unusual in highlighting not just the human costs, but also the awkward fit between China’s authoritarian system, in which complaints of official abuse abound, and Western environmental ideals.

Those ideals produced the Clean Development Mechanism as a market-based tool under the Kyoto Protocol, the 1997 agreement to combat climate change. The CDM allows industrial nations, required by Kyoto to reduce emissions of gases blamed for global warming, to comply by paying developing nations to cut their emissions instead.

I’m hoping someday soon Al Gore will be prosecuted for the fraud that he is. But I’m not holding my breath, he’s been a fraud all his life.

The Carbon Credit Offset Scam Explained

I’ve been waiting for someone to make a video like this. This, is how much sense Al Gore’s Carbon Credit scam makes. Tom Nelson found it.

In the Do As I Say Cult, all that matters is that you feel good about yourself. They don’t seem to understand, a fart is a fart. And just because some other guy is paid not to fart in another country, it doesn’t cover up the fact that you farted here. (and probably a lot more than the normal person)

Littering offsets……I hope algore doesn’t see this.

U.N. Questions Carbon Credits

It has got to be obvious now. Carbon Credits are a scam. If the United Nations is questioning the validity of companies selling feel good for real money, how big of a scam is it? After all, they thought nothing of the Oil For Food scam that lined so many pockets.

OXFORD, England — Marc Stuart and Pedro Moura Costa have become multimillionaires in a booming new market designed to fight global warming.

Now, their empire is under attack.

Their firm, United Kingdom-based EcoSecurities Ltd., helps companies in the industrialized world meet their obligations to pollute less by selling them “credits” that fund clean-air projects in poorer nations. Last year, some $9.4 billion in these credits were traded, up from almost none four years earlier.

The market’s anything-goes early days now appear to be ending. United Nations officials who regulate the trade have started questioning scores of proposed projects, from hydroelectric plants in China to wind farms in India. The issue: whether they provide real environmental gains, or are just padding the pockets of middlemen like EcoSecurities.

EcoSecurities is one of the main players in an international market that was created as part of the “Kyoto Protocol” to combat global warming. A key premise of the system is that, because greenhouse gases damage the atmosphere no matter where they originate, society should attack them first where the cleanup is cheapest, in the developing world. But policing that far-flung market has proved to be tricky because it involves valuing a commodity, climate-warming emissions of gas, that is far less tangible than oil or gold.

The “credits” sold by EcoSecurities and its rivals are supposed to fund clean-air projects in the developing world that otherwise wouldn’t get built. But the U.N. is worried that players in the market may be gaming the system by putting a green imprimatur on some projects that would have happened anyway, defeating the intent of the U.N. program.

So, maybe that’s part of the reason the Goracle is getting all wound up over a very tiny minority of people who don’t believe his snake oil sales pitch. Let’s hope the world is starting to wake up. If the U.N. can sense a problem, maybe there is hope.
