Algore Alliance Raises Its Ugly Head

And guess what he’s calling for? Nationalizing the power grid. That’s right, two days after the election, Algore is calling on the inexperienced president elect for more socialism by turning over the power grid to the government. And I’m sure, securing a little more money for his carbon credit scam.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection has some environmental advice for the incoming Obama administration: focus on energy efficiency and renewable resources, and create a unified U.S. power grid.

You know how great China, North Korea, India do with their power grids. And the prez elect seems to like the way China works.

On Thursday, the group Gore founded rolled out a new media campaign to push for immediate investments in three energy areas it maintains would help meet Gore’s previously announced challenge to produce 100 percent clean electricity in the United States in a decade.

Pegged to Obama’s election victory on Tuesday, the Gore group’s ads on television, in newspapers and online, pose the question, “Now what?”

“Our nation just made history,” one video says. “We have an historic opportunity to boost our economy and repower America with 100 percent clean electricity within 10 years. It will create new American jobs, end our addiction to dirty coal and foreign oil and solve the climate crisis.”

And do you know what’s scarier than that?

Gore — former vice president, Nobel Peace laureate and star of the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” — has said repeatedly he wants to play no official government role in the fight against climate change.

But with environmental activists talking about a possible “climate czar” in President-elect Barack Obama‘s White House, Gore’s name inevitably gets mentioned.

Gore and his group are in line with most U.S. environmental groups, which see the next administration as a chance to act to stem global warming, after what many see as the Bush administration‘s stalling on this issue.

R.K. Pachauri, head of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Gore in 2007, sounded a similar note in a statement issued after the vote.

“The U.S. now has a unique opportunity to assume leadership in meeting the threat of climate change, and it would help greatly if the new president were to announce a coherent and forward looking policy soon after he takes office,”

There are some dark days ahead. Figuratively and literally.

Obama Bombshell Redistribution of Wealth Audio Uncovered

He wants to rewrite the constitution to his way of socialist thinking. This is the one everyone is talking about it and needs to seen. Pass it along.

Obama says the constitution is flawed. So I guess that’s the change he’s been talking about.

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts – not a free society.”

Biden: Raising Taxes Is Patriotic

Wow. Now tell me, is that the change we’re looking for? I don’t make anywhere near $250,000 a year, but I don’t think that’s rich by today’s standards.  Anyway, Sarah Palin (Saracuda) has a response in this video.

Redistribution of wealth is NOT patriotism. It’s socialism/communism. Do you really want that kind of change? It’s what we’ve fought against for nearly 100 years.

Buy Guns And Ammo Now!

If you live in California, and love your Second Amendment Rights, you need to do two things. First, stock up on ammo and buy some new handguns. Second, try to stop these idiots from making new laws.

In the future, you may have to leave a copy of your driver’s license if you want to buy .22-caliber rounds from your local big-box store.

The California Assembly further reinforced the state’s reputation as having the most stringent gun laws in the nation by passing two bills late last month that would put more restrictions on buying and selling handguns and handgun ammunition. Both bills must now win state Senate approval.

One bill, AB 2235, would require any new handgun sold in the state to have a device installed that prohibits anyone other than the owner from pulling the trigger.

The caveat is that the technology for such devices isn’t yet available for sale and the bill wouldn’t take effect until after it is, according to the legislation.

The other bill, AB 2062, would require that ammunition sellers copy an ammo-buyer’s photo ID before selling them handgun rounds.

The bill also would require that handgun ammunition be stored behind the counter and that retailers have special licenses to sell more than 50 rounds.

Rifle and shotgun rounds are exempt.

However, bullets that work in both rifles and pistols, like the popular .22-caliber round — small, cheap bullets popular with varmint shooters and target marksmen — would fall under the regulation, said Dan Reeves, a spokesman for Assemblyman Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, who wrote the bullet bill.

Reeves acknowledged that such provisions won’t be popular in rural Shasta County, which has among the highest gun ownership rates in the state.

“It’s a major burden to the people of Redding, but if you have hundreds of people being murdered (by handgun ammunition) every year, it seems like a small sacrifice,” Reeves said.

Redding City Councilman Patrick Henry Jones, owner of Jones’ Fort gun store in Redding, said the legislation wouldn’t do anything to stop gun crimes.

Rather, it merely makes it more difficult to buy and sell firearms and ammunition, he said.

“Through incrementalism, they’re taking (gun rights) away a little slice at a time and making it harder for dealers to survive,” Jones said.

National anti-gun advocates like Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke say the user-identification systems on pistols in AB 2235 will prevent gun crimes if the technology becomes available.

“‘Owner-authorized’ handguns will help reduce injuries, homicides, suicides, school shootings and accidental shootings in California,” he said in a statement.

That bill would take effect 18 months after California’s attorney general releases a report saying the devices are available for sale, according to the legislation.

Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa, R-Richvale, who voted against both bills, said AB 2235 is particularly offensive because the technology isn’t even available on the market.

He called it “Jetsons” legislation, referring to the futuristic cartoon of the 1960s.

“It’s like trying to pass a law for tailpipe emissions for something, a technology which we don’t even have yet,” he said.

He said he opposed the bullet restrictions because criminals will be able to get bullets regardless of ineffective bureaucratic requirements.

Reeves disagreed, saying the bill also includes provisions that forbid documented gang members from possessing ammo and makes it illegal for someone to buy ammunition and give it to a felon.

He said the proposed ammunition requirements would price criminals and shady gun dealers “out of the market.”

“Right now, criminals, children and gang members are going to Big 5s, Kmarts and gun stores to get ammunition,” Reeves said.

State Sen. Sam Aanestad, R-Grass Valley, will vote against the bills in their current form, his spokesman, Bill Bird, said.

Chavez, Correa Fighting Mad Over Dead Terrorist

More connections to Farc terrorists are coming to light, and these two are fighting mad that their terrorist friend was offed. Although Huggy looks a little scared there.

CUCUTA, Colombia — Venezuela and Ecuador took their growing conflict with Colombia to the diplomatic front, seeking international condemnation of Colombia’s deadly assault on a rebel base in Ecuador.

The two countries tightened their borders and were deploying thousands of troops, while Colombia on Tuesday pointed to documents found in a slain rebel leader’s laptop that it called proof of stunning links between the leftist guerrillas and Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Ecuador rejected a Colombian apology for the cross-border strike as insufficient, and sought to rally opposition during an emergency meeting of the Organization of American States, convened in Washington to help defuse one of South America’s most volatile crises in years. Venezuela’s justice minister declared that war “has already begun.”

At Venezuela’s border with Colombia, National Guard troops turned back Colombian cargo trucks under orders from Caracas.

Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa began a six-nation tour in Peru and Brazil, calling Colombian President Alvaro Uribe a liar who “wanted war.” Correa warned that if the attack goes unpunished, “the region will be in danger, because the next victim could be Peru, it could be Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, any one of our countries.”

Global Warming: Is It Real? Take The Test

Pandering Politicians? Say it aint so. Sadly, it is just business as usual with the three Presidential candidates. All have caved to algore’s global warming hysteria without even one caveat. Pitiful bunch we have running this year. But I’ll save the politics for another day. Here’s what John R. Lott, Jr. has to say.

John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton all promise massive new regulations that will cost trillions of dollars to combat global warming. McCain says that it will be his first task if he wins the presidency. After consulting with Al Gore, Obama feels the problem is so imminent that it is not even really possible to wait until he becomes president.

Ironically, this political unanimity is occurring as global temperatures have been cooling dramatically over the last decade.

Global temperatures have now largely eliminated most of the one degree Celsius warming that had previously occurred over the last 100 years. Hundreds of climate scientists have warned that there is not significant man-made global warming.

A conference in New York on Monday and Tuesday this week will bring 100 scientists together to warn that the there is no man-made global warming crisis.

Yet, we just keep on piling on more and more regulations without asking hard questions about whether they are justified.

New mileage per gallon regulations were signed into law last year that will mandate cars get 35 MPG. The rules will make us poorer, forcing people to buy products that aren’t otherwise the best suited for them. More people will die because lighter cars are less safe, but we are told this is all worth it largely because of global warming.

But much of what gets passed is arbitrary. Was there anything scientific about picking 35 MPG instead of, say, 30 MPG other than the desire to do more? And how do these regulations fit in with all the gasoline taxes we have that are already reducing gas use?

To see if all this makes any sense there are really four questions that all have to be answered “yes.”

See if you think any of these questions deserve a “yes”.

Chavez Is Getting Nervous !!UPDATE!! Link to FARC

It looks like Chavez is getting a bit nervous. Could it be he has a vested interest in FARC? Or is he scared that we may be coming for him. Either way, his anxiety level has to be on the rise. From Pat Dollard’s site.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) – President Hugo Chavez ordered Venezuela’s embassy in Colombia closed and told the military to send 10 battalions to the border after Colombian troops killed a top rebel leader.

Chavez told his defense minister: “move 10 battalions for me to the border with Colombia, immediately.” He ordered the Venezuelan Embassy in Bogota closed and said all embassy personnel would be withdrawn.

The announcements by Venezuela’s leftist leader pushed relations to their tensest point of his nine-year presidency, and Chavez warned that Colombia could spark a war in South America.

He called the U.S.-allied government in Bogota “a terrorist state” and labeled President Alvaro Uribe “a criminal.”

Chavez condemned the slaying of senior rebel commander Raul Reyes and 16 other members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, saying they were killed while they slept in a camp across the border in Ecuadorean territory.

He said Colombia “invaded Ecuador, flagrantly violated Ecuador’s sovereignty.”

“It wasn’t any combat. It was a cowardly murder, all of it coldly calculated,” Chavez said on his weekly TV and radio program, “Hello, President.”

“We pay tribute to a true revolutionary, who was Raul Reyes,” Chavez said, recalling that he had met the FARC rebel in Brazil in 1995 and calling him a “good revolutionary.”

It appears he lost one of his buddies yesterday, and is hearing foot steps.

!!Update!! It looks like Hugo Does have a vested interest. Gateway Pundit has the latest.

A Peek At The NORKS

Someone’s always complaining about how bad we’ve got it in the USA. Bush is evil, Cheney eats small children, Rove secretly runs the world. Take a trip with Greg Palkot inside (sort of) North Korea, and get a peek at what hell on earth really looks like. You’ll appreciate it here just a little bit more.

I had read tons about the Hermit Kingdom but I had never been there. I’d been to Albania, the old east bloc nations, the Soviet Union, Saddam’s Iraq — all before they went Western-user friendly. But, I still found it hard to believe a place like this could exist in 2008.

We knew things were a little bit off when we were approaching the airport on the charter with the orchestra and all we could see was grey tundra outside. When we de-planed, the tarmac next to the solitary terminal was littered with broken down, moth-balled, out-of-date Russian planes.

That’s when we met our friends for this 48-hour stay: government appointed “guides.” In Iraq we call them “minders,” which is a very good word for them, because they “mind” everything we say and do. But again, been there and done that. Stalinist déjà vu all over again.

So, it was off to downtown Pyongyang with my good buddy and long-time cameraman Mal James. That’s when it began to get weirder. Our convoy of half a dozen sleek new buses were virtually the only thing on the highway leading into town … except for the odd military vehicle and government official-driven SUV. There are only 20,000 cars in this country of 23 million and no gas stations that we could see.

Here’s satellite picture of Korea at night. Pretty easy to see what communism will do for you.
Heres the rest of the story.

Another Dead Terrorist

I know we’re still waiting for positive ID for the American Traitor, and we may never get it due to the great job our boys did, but it’s been a good week anyway. The news coming from Colombia says they got the #2 FARC commander.

BOGOTA, Colombia — Security forces killed the No. 2 commander of Colombia’s main guerrilla group in combat Saturday, dealing what the government called the biggest blow to the leftist force since its formation.

Raul Reyes, who became the public face of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia as the group’s spokesman, died in fighting just across the border in neighboring Ecuador, Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos told a news conference that was carried live on Colombia’s main television channels.

“This is the strongest blow dealt to the terrorist group to date,” Santos said.

A total of 17 rebels and one soldier died in the operation, which involved Colombia’s army, police and air force, the defense minister said. Among the rebel dead was a senior FARC member and songwriter known as “Julian Conrado.”
