Biden: Everyone Guessed Wrong

Well no sh!t Sherlock? You called it back in the first week of February. But we’ll get to that a bit later. First Gateway Pundit has this.

The US lost over 2.5 million jobs in the first four months of this year under the Obama Administration.
The US unemployment rate rose from 7.6% to 9.4% under Obama… the highest rate in 25 years.

Bureau of Labor Statistics- via Sweetness and Light
The US has lost 16,000 jobs each day since Democrats passed their non-Stimulus bill, the largest redistribution of wealth from the private sector to government officials in US history, without any House Republican votes.

Joe Biden admitted today that the Obama Administration was wrong on the stimulus.
TIME mag reported, via Free Republic:

Biden tells “Meet the Press” that “everyone guessed wrong” on the impact of the stimulus, economy was worse off than anyone thought.

Now to the Biden prediction. Biden was already in the CYA mode and was saying they would be wrong 30 % of the time. How prophetic. On February 6, 2009 I posted this.

Watch the video to see Vice President Joe “The Gaffe” Biden say that even if they get everything they want, they will still be wrong about a third of the time. And notice how David Axelrod sidesteps the question from Wolf Blitzer and gives the democratic talking points for the day. I first saw Obama’s press secretary Robert Gibbs use the exact same words this morning to dodge a question from the press. Axelrod even takes it one step further by taking the quote out of context. Here’s the video and the quote.

The president and I were talking about something yesterday in the Oval Office — which, to the press here, I’ll not suggest what it was — but the response was to the folks that were in the office with us — was, you know, if we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, we stand up there and we make really tough decisions, there’s still a 30-percent chance we’re going to get it wrong. You, too. You, too. Because I can’t think of a time, as a student of history — and I’ve participated in this business as long as almost anybody but my chairman from Michigan. I think I’ve been here — not a lot of you have served more than 36 years. TWS

Nowhere in that video does he say he’s talking about the stimulus bill. In fact it’s just the opposite, he says he won’t disclose what they were talking about. Again, watch Axelrod evade the question with the democrat talking points.

Hope & Change? Well there’s certainly no Hope if the new administration is going to be wrong a third of the time. And as for Change, just listen to Axelrod pull the same old democratic bullsh!t of changing the subject.

Do you still think this bunch of Chicago con-artist thugs are not taking us for the biggest ride in the history of the United States? They have a plan, and we’d better have one too.

The Greens Are Never Happy

Now the Greens have everything they’ve been waiting for. Both houses of congress are controlled by liberal democrats, and the White House has a radical  liberal President who has vowed to destroy America by insisting on “green” power, among various other things. So how could there be a problem? Seems to me, they don’t want green energy, they want no energy at all.  I think this is their plan….

What else could they want? Here’s the latest NIMBY* excuses.

*(not in my back yard)

A key part of President Obama’s energy plan — replacing fossil fuels with green alternatives — is facing increasing opposition from an unlikely source: environmentalists.

Some environmentalists, who have successfully fought a wind farm on the border of Oregon and Washington, are trying to block a massive solar plant in the Mojave desert. And now an Oregon county is considering a ban on wind power in the foothills of the blue mountains.

“We all want to be as green as we can be. But at what cost?” Richard Jolly of the Blue Mountain Alliance. “To take everything from us? This valley could be surrounded by them.”

Jolly says 400-foot wind turbines are a bird-killing eyesore. The developer argues the danger to birds is exaggerated but admits every big energy project has its downside.

“If we hold out for the perfect environmental silver bullet, if you will, it will always be 15 years down the road,” he said. “We have to make incremental progress.”

For decades, environmental groups have talked about “big oil,” painting the petroleum industry as greedy and destructive. Now similar language is being applied to renewables. Instead of eco-friendly green power, increasingly it’s “big wind” and “big solar.”

Large environmental groups, such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, bristle at the idea of dissension in the ranks.

“We are working very aggressively to make a planning process happen with utilities, with industry, with local groups all at the table,” said Rick Duke, director of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Center for Market Innovation.

Obama has set a goal of getting 25 percent of the nation’s power from renewable sources by 2025. The White House contends that will create millions of jobs and has the support of business and environmental leaders.

But many local activists say we need to slow this rush to renewables or risk trading one power problem for another. Source

Maybe they were surprised they got everything they wanted and they didn’t have a plan for that.

More dissent in the Democratic camp. Oh Darn!

Six Things You Should Know

About the Homeland Security “Report on Rightwing Extremism”. Because it’s fairly easy to be a Right Wing Extremist.

Homeland Security Warns of Rise in Right-Wing Extremism

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”, dated April 7, 2009, which I have read, is apparently an unclassified summary of a larger classified report.

1.  The summary contains few proper names, has no footnotes of any significance, lists very few sources, and is drafted with a prejudice against anyone who criticizes the role of the federal government in our lives today. It lumps together in its definition of “rightwing extremism” hate groups, anti-government groups, and single issue groups “such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

2.  The document itself cautions the reader that the document is “not to be released to the public, the media, or other personnel who do not have a valid need-to-know without prior approval” of the DHS. The document refers to itself as one of a series of intelligence assessments intended to “deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks against the United States.”

3.  The thrust of this report is that in the present environment of economic instability, returning military veterans, those who fear of the loss of Second Amendment-protected rights, those threatened by an African-American president, and those who fear “Jewish ‘financial elites’” could all be a fertile breeding ground for groups whose power and ideas the government hates and fears. The document is essentially a warning for DHS and FBI officials to be on the look-out for rootless persons looking for the comfort of groups as they may be a danger to American security.

4.  The summary (unclassified) document is terrifying. One can only imagine what is contained in the classified version. This document runs directly counter to numerous U.S. Supreme decisions prohibiting the government from engaging in any activities that could serve to chill the exercise of expressive liberties. Liberties are chilled, in constitutional parlance, when people are afraid to express themselves for fear of government omnipresence, monitoring, or reprisals. The document also informs the reader that Big Brother is watching both public and private behavior.

5.  The whole purpose of the First Amendment is to guarantee open, broad, robust debate on the policies and personnel of the government. The First Amendment presumes that individuals — NOT THE GOVERNMENT — are free to choose what they believe and espouse, what they read and say, and with whom they associate in public and in private. The writers of this abominable report are particularly concerned with the expression of opinions that might be used to fuel ideas that challenge federal authority or favor state and local government over the federal government. Unfortunately, legislation passed during the past eight years gives the DHS and the FBI the tools to monitor everything from a telephone conversation to the keystrokes used on a personal computer without a warrant issued by a federal judge.

6.  My guess is that the sentiments revealed in the report I read are the tip of an iceberg that the DHS would prefer to keep submerged until it needs to reveal it. This iceberg is the heavy-hand of government; a government with large and awful eyes, in whose heart there is no love for freedom, and on whose face there is no smile.

The Double Quiet Sun
Usually, and that means in the past year, when you look at the false color MDI image from SOHO, you can look at the corresponding magnetogram and see some sort of disturbance going on, even it it is not visible as a sunspot, sunspeck, or plage area.
Not today.
Is That a Sunspot?
Yesterday I lamented that the sun was blank, not only on the SOHO MDI, but also the magnetogram. Within a couple of hours, one sunspeck appeared. I cited Murphy’s Law. As one commenter put it: ” I think if you check back for the last six months or so whenever you mention the lack of sunspots on here, one shows up.”.

HE’S MY PRESIDENT, BUT I DON’T HAVE TO LIKE IT
If I hear one more person point out that Obama is the president and that it’s our duty to support him, I just might run amok. For one thing, I resent being reminded that he actually won the election and that it’s not all a bad dream from which I’ll awaken as soon as the alarm clock rings. For another, there was a very good reason that I voted for John McCain, and it certainly had nothing to do with my having great expectations of the man, and everything to do with my conviction that Obama was a left-wing ideologue.

Rick Santelli Responds To White House Spokespuke

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs sarcastically tried to talk down to Rick Santelli after the Chicago Tea Party remarks. The contempt he spews has not been shown publicly by any other administration in history. A little thin skinned maybe?  Rick Santelli hit a nerve, and he’d better be ready for the “Joe The Plumber” treatment. Or worse. In the video below, Rick diccusses Gibbs’ remarks with Larry Kudlow.

Welcome, MM readers….

Bottled Water: You Should Be The One To Choose

The Natural Resources Defense Council has changed their mind about the safety of tap water. Back in 2003 they said it was contaminated and not safe to drink. Now they say throw away the bottled water and drink tap water. Confused? When it makes no sense, follow the money. And the money is in following what the Gloworms and Greenies say right now.

This is still America. You should be able to make your own choices.  Sign the petition HERE.

Obama Flips Us The Bird Again

This has got to be the ultimate in arrogance. What about releasing his records first? College records, health records, campaign donation  records….Birth Certificate?

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama has issued an executive order that limits the ability of former presidents to block the release of sensitive records of their time in the White House.

Obama’s action Wednesday in his first full day in office overturns an earlier order issued by George W. Bush.

Obama said former presidents may ask to have certain documents kept private, but they no longer may compel the National Archives to do so.

Obama’s executive order also makes clear that neither former vice presidents nor relatives of former presidents who have died have authority to keep records private.

Bush’s executive order, issued in November 2001, prompted a federal lawsuit and the partial invalidation of the order.

On his first day no less. One set of rules for him, another for everyone else.  What an arrogant prick. Welcome to the beginning of the indoctrination.
