What? Al Gore would LIE to get his way?

We knew it all along but here it is from the horse’s ass…

Nobel laureate Al Gore said this weekend that tax breaks for corn-based ethanol are “not good policy” and that he only supported these subsidies in order to assist his eventual run for president.

Reuters Africa reported Monday the former Vice President made these comments while speaking to a green energy conference in Athens.

“It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for first generation ethanol,” said Gore.

According to the International Energy Industry, such subsidies totaled $7.7 billion last year. Yet Gore now thinks this was a mistake.

“The energy conversion ratios are at best very small. It’s hard once such a program is put in place to deal with the lobbies that keep it going,” he said.

Readers are reminded that Gore was the tie-breaking vote in the Senate mandating the use of ethanol in 1994.

So why did the man media view as one of the world’s foremost environmentalists support such a program?

“One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president.”

What a saint.

So more than ten years ago, Gore supported an expensive, “not good policy” because he thought it would help him get elected president.

Yet media don’t believe he’d misrepresent the threat of manmade global warming in order to become extremely rich.

The bigger question is whether or not this matter will get any attention here in America, or if the Gore-loving media will choose to ignore this stunning revelation.

More trouble looms for the IPCC. The body may need to revise statements made in its Fourth Assessment Report on hurricanes and global warming. A statistical analysis of the raw data shows that the claims that global hurricane activity has increased cannot be supported.

CRU: What Data? Just Trust Us

I was going to start this out by saying Unbelievable, but in reality it is what a bunch of us have been saying all along. The ‘facts’ are based on lies and now we find out the original data the lies are based on have been destroyed. How inconvenient.

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building.

The admission follows the leaking of a thousand private emails sent and received by Professor Phil Jones, the CRU’s director. In them he discusses thwarting climate sceptics seeking access to such data.

In a statement on its website, the CRU said: “We do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (quality controlled and homogenised) data.”

The CRU is the world’s leading centre for reconstructing past climate and temperatures. Climate change sceptics have long been keen to examine exactly how its data were compiled. That is now impossible.

Roger Pielke, professor of environmental studies at Colorado University, discovered data had been lost when he asked for original records. “The CRU is basically saying, ‘Trust us’. So much for settling questions and resolving debates with science,” he said.

Biden: Everyone Guessed Wrong

Well no sh!t Sherlock? You called it back in the first week of February. But we’ll get to that a bit later. First Gateway Pundit has this.

The US lost over 2.5 million jobs in the first four months of this year under the Obama Administration.
The US unemployment rate rose from 7.6% to 9.4% under Obama… the highest rate in 25 years.

Joe Biden admitted today that the Obama Administration was wrong on the stimulus.

Now to the Biden prediction. Biden was already in the CYA mode and was saying they would be wrong 30 % of the time. How prophetic. On February 6, 2009 I posted this.

Watch the video to see Vice President Joe “The Gaffe” Biden say that even if they get everything they want, they will still be wrong about a third of the time. And notice how David Axelrod sidesteps the question from Wolf Blitzer and gives the democratic talking points for the day. I first saw Obama’s press secretary Robert Gibbs use the exact same words this morning to dodge a question from the press. Axelrod even takes it one step further by taking the quote out of context. Here’s the video and the quote.

Nowhere in that video does he say he’s talking about the stimulus bill. In fact it’s just the opposite, he says he won’t disclose what they were talking about. Again, watch Axelrod evade the question with the democrat talking points.

Hope & Change? Well there’s certainly no Hope if the new administration is going to be wrong a third of the time. And as for Change, just listen to Axelrod pull the same old democratic bullsh!t of changing the subject.

Do you still think this bunch of Chicago con-artist thugs are not taking us for the biggest ride in the history of the United States? They have a plan, and we’d better have one too.

Waxman: Huh? I need to know what I’m doing?

Somebody Noticed: Antarctic Ice Is Growing…

…and has been for several years. We knew it all along, but maybe if it goes mainstream people will see they are being lied to.

Ice is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap.

The results of ice-core drilling and sea ice monitoring indicate there is no large-scale melting of ice over most of Antarctica, although experts are concerned at ice losses on the continent’s western coast.

Antarctica has 90 percent of the Earth’s ice and 80 percent of its fresh water, The Australian reports. Extensive melting of Antarctic ice sheets would be required to raise sea levels substantially, and ice is melting in parts of west Antarctica. The destabilization of the Wilkins ice shelf generated international headlines this month.

However, the picture is very different in east Antarctica, which includes the territory claimed by Australia.

East Antarctica is four times the size of west Antarctica and parts of it are cooling. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research report prepared for last week’s meeting of Antarctic Treaty nations in Washington noted the South Pole had shown “significant cooling in recent decades.”

Australia Antarctic Division glaciology program head Ian Allison said sea ice losses in west Antarctica over the past 30 years had been more than offset by increases in the Ross Sea region, just one sector of east Antarctica.

“Sea ice conditions have remained stable in Antarctica generally,” Allison said.

Ice core drilling in the fast ice off Australia’s Davis Station in East Antarctica by the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Co-Operative Research Center shows that last year, the ice had a maximum thickness of 1.89m, its densest in 10 years.

A paper to be published soon by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is expected to confirm that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded.  Source

Al Gore is getting more and more paranoid about the media. He won’t debate, he won’t even answer any questions except from friendly questioners like the U. N. And now he bans the media entirely. What’s he afraid of? He knows he’s a fraud and a liar and if he answers any questions everyone else will know too.

No Questions Please

Al Gore — something of a geek himself, from what we hear — will be keynoting the CTIA Wireless mobile phone conference next month.

But don’t expect the speech to be webcast — it’s not supposed to be reported: Al Gore is banning press from the event.

Gore’s people have announced:

“Special Notice: Photography, recording, webcasting and any other reproduction of Vice President Al Gore’s speaking appearance is strictly prohibited. VP Gore’s keynote address is closed to the press.”

We’re told a security detail will be checking conference badges at the door, and anyone with a press pass will be denied entry to the speech.

Gore pulled the same stunt last year at 2008 RSA security conference. And we don’t even know why he banned press from RSA — word of the speech got out, of course, and Gore’s talk turned out to be the same old stump speech about global warming he always gives.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for any bombshells at the April 3 speech we’re not supposed to write about. But consider this: It’s a mobile phone conference, meaning everyone there will probably have a top-shelf portable device for capturing audio, video, you-name-it on their person. Gore can ban whomever he likes, but word will get out. Consider it an inconvienent truth.

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I’d never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: ‘Well, I’m the Sheriff and if you don’t like it you can come and arrest me!’ I asked him: ‘Sheriff, what’s got you so mad?’ He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters.

The boats were all lined up ready to go — when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn’t go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, ‘Sheriff, that’s ridiculous.’ And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: ‘Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!’ Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.

There is a lesson in this experience: The strength of America is not found in our government. It is found in the compassionate hearts and enterprising spirit of our citizens.

The radical left is attacking Bobby Jindal over his story regarding Hurricane Katrina and Sheriff Harry Lee.

The people from Louisiana has heard this story a million times.

The key point to be killed is the radical Left, with Keith Olbermann, claims the story is false because Jindal was not on the ground in New Orleans during the Katrina mess.

In fact, Jindal was the *only* elected official who was on the ground.

Here is the most important information:

Now the lefties are just moving the goal posts and saying Bobby was not in New Orleans “during Katrina” because he was not there while the hurricane was blowing over the city — never mind that he showed up the next day as the levees were collapsing.

Duh One To Get Special Teleprompter

Duh One will getting a special teleprompter built into the podium for press conferences and special White House events so his handlers can tell him what to say. He has proven to be less than average when he has to think for himself. Just Words? Just Speeches? I’d have to say, Yes.

One wouldn’t know it from reading the Washington Post or New York Times, but some inside the White House don’t think that President Barack Obama hit a home run with his first national press conference last week.

“It looked scripted beyond the scripted part, the speech,” says one former communications adviser, who has been feeding notes and suggestions to the White House team and worked with them on the inauguration. “Every president has gone into one of these things knowing that there were some pre-arranged questions or journalists to be called on, but this one was pretty ham-handed.”

To that end, he says, the White House is looking to install a small video or computer screen into the podium used by the president for press conferences and events in the White House. “It would make it easier for the comms guys to pass along information without being obvious about it,” says the adviser.

The screen would indicate whom to call on, seat placement for journalists, pass along notes or points to hit, and so forth, says the adviser.

Using a screen is nothing new for Obama; almost nothing he said in supposedly unscripted townhall events during the presidential campaign was unscripted, down to many of the questions and the answers to those questions. Teleprompter screens at the events scrolled not only his opening remarks, but also statistics and information he could use to answer questions.

“It would be the same idea with the podium,” says the adviser.

Obama had a teleprompter set up for his remarks last week, before taking questions, but the White House couldn’t use the teleprompter for anything but the remarks, because the journalists were so close to the screens. Further complicating matters, teleprompter copy can’t be easily updated in real time, in a setting like a White House press conference.

It’s a sad state of affairs when the leader of the free world doesn’t have an original thought in his head and has to be fed the answers from the people that pushed him into office.

If you think back a few years there was quite an uproar over a bad fitting suit that President Bush wore at a press conference. The press was all up in arms saying he wore a wire to get signals from offstage. Lets see how this tingles their legs.
