Can’t Dispute The Facts? Smear Them

With all information pointing to the end of a small warming period, you just had to know the gloworms would be ready to attack as soon as their talking points were in order. It seems ABC is the choice for the first round here. Take a look at what they did to Dr. S. Fred Singer in this article from Junk Science publisher Steven Milloy.

By any standard, atmospheric physicist Dr. S. Fred Singer is a remarkably accomplished scientist. But his outspoken questioning of global warming alarmism has just earned him one of the most outrageous mainstream media smear pieces I’ve ever seen.

ABC News reporter Dan Harris interviewed Singer for more than an hour at the recent International Climate Conference. From that interview, Harris produced a three-minute TV broadcast and Web site article that was about as fair and objective toward Singer as I might expect Greenpeace to be.

In fact, considering the activist group’s dominant role in Harris’ “report,” it seems that ABC News was merely the production company for a Greenpeace propaganda hit.

Harris’ piece starts out, “His fellow scientists call him a fraud, a charlatan and a showman, but Fred Singer calls himself ‘a realist.’” And just who are these “fellow scientists”? Harris didn’t identify them.

Now let’s take a look at another Hit Piece from the Goracle himself. CBS is coming to bat now.

(CBS) Self-avowed “P.R. agent for the planet” Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is man-made, Gore responds: “You’re talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore. “That demeans them a little bit, but it’s not that far off,” he tells Stahl.

So, do you see a pattern starting to develop here? I know it’s early but just watch. They can’t dispute the facts, so they must attack the messenger with all of the ferocity the Goracle can muster. The gloworms feel threatened now, and you can expect them to fight dirty and not let facts get in their way. That includes the time tested liberal tactic of YELLING LOUDER, and talking over anyone that would dare to speak against them. And the Main Stream Media will be right with them, helping to promote the lies of global warming.
